Hi All,

I have received a lot of help fom you all, and thought it about time that I tried to obtain some reference material.

I have a 1980 C3 and a 76 both L48's :(

The 1980 I plan to keep, I have a workshop manual and a parts manual.

I would like some reference books on the differences between models and maybe even a book on light performance enhancements.

Anyone have any recommendations? if so, where can I buy them from (Any possible url's etc).

Some of the best information you can find is in the Assembly Manuals...
For diagrams & detailed pics, Doc Rebuilds catalog is excellent...
The NCRS judging manual isn't too bad either...very few pics though, but if you want to know the differences between the years...they would be the way to go...but it's information overkill.

I bought every C3 book out there for my rebuild. As I am not a mechanic... I needed all the help I could get. Seriously, I have found all the books combined cover almost all aspects of Corvette rebuild, care and maintenance... EXCEPT the size of a release bearing.... (still pissed about this... sorry.. heee) ZIP and Mid America have all the books I write about... :party:

Before we bought our Vette I got a copy of The Complete Book of Corvette by Richard Langworth. A great reference, but not sure if it's still available over here. Got mine from Tom Falconer. While you're there, get his book, "Original Corvette 68-82". Great info, in Tom's inimitable style! The Corvette Restoration Guide 1968 - 1982 by Richard Prince is good stuff as well. Can't beat the Assembly Instruction Manual of course. And, join NCRS! Oft maligned by those who don't underdstand it, it's a great source of info! The Judgiing manual not only details how the car looked when new, but also how it worked. (And we have a UK Chapter that you'll be more than welcome in!)
