70 vert body work reaching the end, color paint going on!! Photos
Well it's getting near the end of the body work phase, soon will be reassembling this thing!! :D
Here's some photos to update you on the work in progress.
Gel coat wet sanded and ready for primer coats.
Primer coat on.
Primer coat guide coated ready for wet sanding.
Primer coat sanded ready for paint.
Monza red shot on the undersides of parts today.
The inside of the hood.
The engine compartment hood ledge.
All I can say at this point is I love this glaserite single stage, lay it on thick, and VERY little orange peal, shouldn't be but a very fine wet sand with 1500 and a polish job, will shine like a BC/CC job. I also have to say that I absolutly love the sata gun I bought, perfect balance, good control, and 100% better than the finish line III I used for the primer. Yes they are expensive, but it made this shoot so much better than expected. I'll unmask , and remask in the early AM, and will shoot the car tomorrow, will send some photos when it is shoot, and also when it is sanded.
Daedline: As soon as possible, springs a comin' and so is the cruise in!!

That looks great. Where did you learn how to paint cars? I'll probably try to do a frame off and paint mine a few years in the future.

Considerably cheaper than taking it somewhere to be done. One key item is make sure that the room you use is CLEAN!! No dust bunny's allowed, wet the floor and have at it. I went with the single stage due to it's workability, if I mess up, it's easier to fix then BC/CC, and after seeing how this has worked, I'm not sure I'll ever want to shoot BC/CC.

very very nice looking, can't wait to see it all back togeather. If you don't mind my asking, how much did you pay for the paint? how much paint do you need to paint a vette?
Once again, it looks great!

I have about 1300.00 in this paint, you can get cheaper brands altough. I bought 2 gallons, and used a gallon and 1/4 so far.
