68 conv Weaterstrip install.
Hi, need a little or a lot of help. I am a new owner of a 68 conv. corvette, and a new member to the site. I purchased a weatherstrip kit and am wondering if anyone knows where to go for instructions for installation. I ahve gone thru some of the discussion and there are very helpful suggestions from many of the members. Can anyone help with this?
Thanks Bob :chevy

:seeya ....we can always use more '68 owners 'round here !
ON the install.....my suggestion would be to look in the AIM (Assem. Instr. Manual) for '68 ;)

The AIM might help you identify what piece goes where but it probably won't explain very clearly how to install it. Try talking to the manufacturer or the place you bought it from. There might even be an old article available on one of the Corvette Magazine web sites that outline weather strip installation. The FAQ section of this forum might even have a tech paper on it.
In general, at least as far as the door strips go, they clip or screw in place on the ends and are bonded to the perimeter of the door with weatherstrip cement (available at an auto parts or body supply store generally in yellow or black). You can use masking tape to help hold the strip in place until the glue dries.
From one '68 owner to another....Good Luck!!
