Default Light weight waterpump?

Hey guys...

Whats the life expectancy of an aluminum mechanical waterpump?

Are all the brands built on the same blanks? Or are some better quality then others? It'd be going on a 355 in a 75 coupe... that will be daily transportation on nice days. Can they handle the riggors of daily use?

P.S. Check my thread about oil pumps in Engine Mods, I'm working on the accessories side of the rebuild!

I am using the Edelbrock aluminum water pump for the Corvette. Runs fine in Arizona summers and has been on 2 1/2 years without a drip.

Not cheap though.
