Default TT Steering column? Who carries this part...

The plastic peice that the turn signal lever pushes in. My lever moves all around, so I assume the plastic inside is bugged up.

It might be the screw that holds it in place. mine is loose I need to get in there and tighten it up.

The 1978-82 T&T column has a plug-in turn signal lever. From what you describe, it sounds as if you need a new dimmer pivot. The good news is that the pivot is still available from GM dealers. The bad news is that you have to disassemble the steering column head in order to replace the pivot. Also, there is one other problem. I have two part numbers for the pivot. I am not sure if one or the other is correct. The part numbers are 7833704 or 7833283.

If you determine the correct pivot part number for your column, I would appreciate your feedback.

BTW, you do NOT want the 1977 T&T dimmer pivot.

I have found it best to remove the steering column from the car in order to conduct repairs of this nature.

I have written several papers along with pictures to assist you in repairing the T&T column. They can be found from the following links: http://www.corvettefaq.com/redir.asp?site=607 http://www.corvettefaq.com/redir.asp?site=611</A> http://www.corvettefaq.com/redir.asp?site=612 http://www.corvettefaq.com/redir.asp?site=613 http://www.corvettefaq.com/redir.asp?site=603 http://www.corvettefaq.com/redir.asp?site=604 <A HREF="http://www.corvettefaq.com/redir.asp?site=605" TARGET="_blank">http://www.corvettefaq.com/redir.asp?site=605
