My '68 came missing many things...the gasket for the gas cap among them. This translates to gas sloshing out and down over the top of the tank, and stinking up everything :U

I got a new gasket from doc rebuild with my last box of goodies...question is, what shoud I use to bond it to the gas cap?

Last time I did this I used the Permatex Black "Hardening" stuff. I forget whether it's "2A" OR "2B". All I remember was it was the "Hardening" stuff and after 5 or so years it's still holding great. Just use a "film" of it-don't gob it on so that when squished it drips into your tank.

Thanks, I'll check at the local O'Reilly's and see if they have a tube kicking around, they certainly have lots of Permatex products.
