Guage w/d's
Can somebody help me find some wiring diagrams that illustrate how the guages are wired?
I have a Chilton's manual and it has nothing. I have found a lot of info here: http://iotech.no/corvette/technical/...ics/index.htm, but I have more than four wires heading into the center guage panel.
Since I have the dash off, I'm trying to finish all the wiring that belongs under there.

You really really need a shop manual or an AIM. Chiltons is about useless for wiring. Haynes is better, but still very generic.

Even the service manuals do not always provide a great diagram. Case in point, my Formula up and died on me last Aug and I have been trying to figure out why. I could tell the fuel pump was not coming on so I checked the wiring diagrams and there was reference to a 20v fuse near the battery, so I found a 30v one and figured that was it. Well after tracking all the wiring I found another encased fuse that clips to the fender wall that turned out to be toasted. Now to figure out why I am not getting spark now. :mad

What is an AIM?
I have an assembly manual, but that has jack for wiring.

Surely somebody has to know where I can find the wiring diagrams for the dash.
Anybody?

What year? I can send you wiring diagrams for 68 and 69 ... but I'm not sure how far forward they would be effective beyond that.

I can't believe I forgot to add what year I'm after...
1980.
What year did electric guages become standard, or did they always come that way?

Use the AIM manual for wire harness routing only. Use the schematic in the factory service manual for actual connections. By following both closely:banghead: you should be able to get through this. There is a company that makes laminated wiring diagrams but they are the same diagrams as the factory manual has.

Re: Guage w/d's (Big Fish)
Well, I ordered the schematic for my car from lectriclimited today at lunch. It says they are for base model cars, so they don't include any options. But that is ok since I'm after the wiring under the dash.
I did like the free shipping for all internet charges. But all internet charges have a $5 surcharge.

Just thought I'd let everyone know, I ordered the wiring diagram for my car from Lectric Limited.
Without a doubt, the best purchase you can make if you have to work on the wiring in your car.
BigFish, thanks for sending me there!

I've got one from Lectric Limited for my 74, and it has factory options on it.
I've got the rear window defogger, and it's covered by the diagram. So, you may be lucky and have everything you need.
