Default Aftermarket Seats

Has anyone of you guys installed aftermarket racing seats on your C3? I am considering installing a pair of Sparco/Momo/Recaro/whatevers for show, but since there is such tight space in there, I would hate to mailorder a pair that wouldn't fit. I noticed that a lot of these aftermarket seats advertised in the rice magazines (sorry) are cheaper than rebuilding the worn stock seats.

Hi

There are people using C4/C5 seats and also some who use sparco and others aftermarked seats, try using the search function.

Welcome to the forum

I'm using pair of Sparco Milano's in my 79. They are the best mod I've done to my interior.

What can I expect to pay for a set of Sparcos? Those look real nice.

I think I will get some kirkey alu ones, the sparcos and recaros in leather are way above budget and I hate to put those wannabe ricer things in my car (imagine those red seats YUCK)

TT, none of those Kirkey seats tilt forward do they? How do you plan to reach the rear? Corbeau A4 are about $300 each in cloth, but if you demand leather, that'd cost $800 each.

What rear compartments LOL. I don't plan on having anything there except maybe the dry sump tank if I can't find another location for it. Battery will be mounted in a seperate battery box.

We will have these seats available in about a month.

While you can get similar seats from other Corbeau dealers we have come up with a custom modified seat and mounting bracket so it will fit in a C3 and someone over 5'9" can fit in them. The standard seat and bracket that is available causes the seat to sit far to high thus anyone over 5'9" will hit their head on the roof. For the moment we will offer the GTS2 but others may follow if we can make the fit.

what about apc. seats... they come in 5 or 6 colors . have a tilt forward, and are $149.95.. so i either do my seats for about$400, or or go with the apc seats for $300.. and they are cloth.. oh yea,, i fond these in jegs in the rice section.. :D

Im thinking of the Koenig K5000 - Heated seats with 4 way power options in Black Leatherette - its $$$, but I think they are the only Power seats that fit the C3

Recaro used to make them but not anymore

Any of the others mentioned have power options?

I put these 1993 sport seats in my '71. Don't do this unless you have a T/T steering wheel. I love 'em, but I replaced the column with a '77 T/T to get room just to get in and out. Seat is about 1-1/2 inches higher and the bolsters get in the way. They are really beautiful. Got them "like new" off ebay for $900.

I have '94 seats in my '68. And I don't have tilt wheel. I would definately agree with the above statement! I am 5'6" 140 pounds and it's a tight fit for me even with a small Momo steering wheel. But they are very comfortable!

I bought the seat frames for $100 and Bought Al Noch leather in the proper '68 saddle color for just under $1000.

I am very happy with them, but would be much more happy if I had tilt wheel.

Those look really nice. At nearly 6'3" my current (stock) seats are darned uncomfortable. I sat in a new Nissan Z about a year ago and was absolutely stunned at how comfortable those little side bits are. Part of my issue is the lack of shoulder belt, I'll go for anything that helps hold me in my seat.

Late model C3 (aka Pace Car) seats are a good option in an earlier C3. In my opinion, they're comfortable, and they do a good job of holding you in place going fast around the corners :D

I have a Sparco Ultra drivers racing seat. Folding seats aren't safe!
