u-joint girdles
Anyone know if anyone makes a u-joint girdle for a 1330 series joint. (1980 half shafts on an auto trans)? I don't mind breaking u-joints, I can replace the shaft beyween rounds, but shearing off the bolts in the yoke is a downer.
Thanks for any help. JamieJ

Re: u-joint girdles (jamiejamison)
There are some aftermarket companies that make these. It's a somewhat standard item and shouldn't be too hard to find in Summit, Jeg's or your local performance shop. I'm not sure about the sizes though.

Re: u-joint girdles (gravismaximus)
Moroso only makes girdles for 1350 series joints. Since I can't find any that fit 1330's, I'll just drill the straps and hubs for 5/16 bolts. This will get rid of the puny 1/4 bolts and threads. Thanks for the response. JamieJ
