Merlins bar was not NHRA approved.. I need a rollbar that is NHRA legal and still allows soft top operation and no cutting to the deck...

Hi

I think that this doesn't exist.

Good luck. Gunther

I wouldn't mind if I'd have to cut the deck just a little bit at the edge.. but there has to be a way to keep the convertible top functional...

Not a chance. NHRA I am pretty sure requires the braces to come within a few inches of the top of the main hoop which means you have to cut DEEP into the deck which means the braces would interfere with the soft top operation. Also, the main hoop must be a couple inches above the top of your helmet, which puts it high enough to interfere with the top. I researched it a lot before I built my roll bar, and in the end figured something was better than nothing. I know that doesn't meet requirements, but I am not into sanctioned racing.
Good luck,
Chris

My racing seat is 3 - 4 inches lower than my regular seat, therefore - the rollbar could be lower by 3 - 4 inches too... I'm sure that there has to be a way...

I don't really know too much about the seat.. Somebody gave it to me.. The guy that gave it to me is very tall and he modified the seat to be lower...
