I screwed the covers to the rocker and now the front support doesn't meet the frame. On the passenger side, it reaches the frame far enough to screw down but the driver's side the bracket barely touches the frame?? should I just weld them to the frame?

Any ideas? :confused: Did I do something wrong?

I had the same issue with mine....In the end I drilled out the rivets, removed the two nuts and removed the factory brackets and made my own out of mild steel (I tried "reshaping" the factory ones but with the ridges in them they are pretty tough to bend with out kinking them)

Hmmm, and you have a '69 too. Wonder why they don't match up. :confused:
