Front Right just collapsed....what happened?
Finished my winter project (but now, maybe not :mad ) . Had Vansteel rebuild my rear end and T-arms, I replaced new front wheel bearings, 4 new rotors and calipers all around, new brake lines, new rear spring, etc. Got finished and took for a test ride. Broke in the brakes (40 MPH, 100 yards driving with two feet, let them cool, repeat, four times), and the car started pulling to right (without the brakes on). Then the back of the right front tire started rubbing the fender, and when I turned the wheel a bit, took off the lower inner corner (forward of the rocker panel :mad )
The ground to center fender opening height is 27 3/4" front left, and now the front right is 26 3/4" (dropped an inch during my test run).
I didn't do any maintenace forward except the bearings, rotors, calipers, etc. Didn't mess with the suspension.
Any ideas where to look? I can't even drive the car to the shop for a four-wheel alignment now....

Did you break a spring? Or did a ball-joint give up the ghost on you? With the work you've done already, you should be able to jack up the car and pull the wheel and see if anything looks seriously out of sorts.
Good luck!

looks familiar - the same thing happened to me about a month and a half ago. A good collision guy should be able to set you right!
Mine was able to do the repair, and I didn't even need an alignment afterwards

That's a way common problem. Can be welded up, shouldn't cost you more than $100.

I am sorry to see that your frame is damaged and hope you can get it fixed without breaking your wallet. But I am curious to know how common this is and why does it happen? This is the 1st time I have seen this.

If I remember correctly this one was repaired for about $250. But perhaps someone else has a better memory.
