Seafoam = Marvel Mystery Oil?
Recent post about Seafoam.
Been posts about Marvel Mystery Oil.
Aren't these both just very light weight oils put in the gas tank?

Marvel Mystery oil has been around for a long time. I can remember 30 years ago, my grandfather pouring marvel mystery oil into the carburator to clean the carbon off the pistons. I don't know if it did more harm than good, but he swore by it.

Seafoam is a blend of light lubricant, naptha cleaning solvent and isopropal alcohol. This is according to the factory rep that came to our parts store. Craig :cheers:

Many of the old car guys (mine's a 52 Studebaker truck, in other words old cars, not necessarily old guys) use the Marvel Mystery Oil to turn over old haven't-been-turned-in-years motors ---- I squirt it into the spark plug holes on a motor I think may sit for a while.
