Come on guys I need some visual help here. I want to what people have done considering the rear deck spacing we have and the fact that it's supposed to hold the t-tops. I want to see everyone has the speakers and such in the back.

Here is what I've done. Pardon the non-finished look, the trim pieces are still off in the pics.

Good luck and have fun...

I was thinking about mounting some shallow speakers on the doors of the rear compartments. Maybe move the battery to the center compartment if i needed the extra room. Would this produce decent sound? I havent seen it done before.

The center compartment? Have you looked at it recently?? It's about big enough for a pair of gloves and some extra bulbs (what I have in there). I believe the driveshaft is directly under it.

There are some specs, somewhere around here, for mounting rear speakers. What you end up with is something identical to what Rouge Wave has done.
I used these specs to mount 6X9s in the rear of my '76. Also mounted the essential fire extinguisher between the speaker enclosures.

When there is a stereo in, I run a tweaked home speaker set. One large amp. in the center compartment for the removable rear speakers w/ 2 long throw 4s (equil. to 2 8s) & a dome in each.

It ROCKS !
Rarely use it. The engine makes enough music for me.

I am going to be modifying my old sub box with 2 10" subs to fit back there I will then add mids and tweats to the front of the car with a small amp and I should have a pretty kick azz system with plenty of room for the tops in their bag,, But that will be later down the road.. I have alot of stuff to do before that happens :)

Too bad that setup would be wasted on my 77 as it is a "notchback", can't show it off :) But that gives me some ideas.. Did that guy give out plans by any chance??
