Switched back to white letters

Switched back to white letters
I switched back to white letters. The blackwalls just didn't look right with 15" wheels. I think it looks much better now. All the old vettes that I see that I like always have white letters. I do like the 17's with lower profile though.

They (and the vette) look good, hard to imagine what it would look like without the white letters without having two pictures to compare. My wheels looks alot like yours but in the signature picture the letters are more like grey, nothing that some sandpaper couldn't fix during the winter :yesnod:

I just mounted some BFG's on my new wheels and the tire guy say " White lettering out ? " and I replied "Is there any other way ? "

Sigh! After looking at the comparison pictures, it looks like I have to go have the Avid S/Ts on the 78 reversed so the raised letters are out.
ntil looking at the pictures, I didn't notice how empty the black space on the sidewalls looked. The rasied white letters help fill the void and make the wheels more connected to the body.

I like the white letters look too, but I have different brands front and back, so it'd look kindof dumb, that and my tires don't have white letters anyway, the Pirellis just have the little yellow scorpion, which is also in. I choose performance with better tires over looks with white letters on lesser tires.

 Never understood why anyone put the RWL on the inside. Blackwalls are for those that bought cheap tires and did not want other people to see that they cheap tires.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but BFG T/As, Goodyear whatever, Dunlop whatever, those are cheap tires. It's more about the perception of a famous-sounding American brand. There are next to no really good tires for 15" wheels anymore.

Re: Switched back to white letters (1bad69)
 So are you going to drive at sustained speeds of 130 plus on your, no doubt vr rated $1000.00 tires  I don't think so. And any $100.00 (or less) BFG,Goodyear,Firestone etc. would serve the normal Vette enthusiast quite well ! ;) :seeya

im sure those crappy BFG TA's you are talking about would be good for " the normal Vette enthusiast " that drives a low HP one...
i did not buy these tires for their rating to go fast..i bought them because they have good traction...i had TA's on the car when i bought it, but they had garbage traction...when i switched to the Michelin's the traction was much better....
