Default Gas Pedal Bracket Broken

The plastic "bracket" that holds my gas pedal to the front of the car broke yesterday when my dad felt the need to burn up my tires. I know this is an easy fix, but is there anywhere that you can get just the bracket and not the whole assembly. Ecklers only has the whole assembly. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Thanks.

I have designed a replacement gas pedal bracket, e-mail me at one of the following:

vettmike@mindspring.com

or

mike.c.bohannan@lmco.com

My bracket is aluminum and replacing the plastic mount, using the original pedal bracket, and includes the hardware to install.

Usually it's the other way around. When mine broke I had my son help me install the new one.

Anyone going to the drags or pressing the accelerator to WOT is going to need a new one the plastic will break..

LOL

Go with the bracket from Vettemike. I got one for my C4 and it's very well constructed with complete installation instructions. I don't think GM even makes the replacement bracket anymore. As mentioned, anyone who races should have this replacement.

My gas pedal wobbles from top to bottom....is that cause this plastic thing is broken? (Sorry to jump in....just want to fix...seeing if the same thing)

Yes--that's it. Foot slips off sometimes? Hard to locate?
Could be dangerous if it gets stuck to the floor at WOT.

I have some pictures posted at the following url:
http://home.mindspring.com/~vettmike/

These are not very good, but you will get the idea.

Another hazard of the pedal mount breaking is the pedal can get stuck under the break pedal.

I will be in Huntsville Al. this weekend, last autocross of the year for me, leaving early tomorrow morning so I will be out of touch until Monday evening.

Definitely spring for Mikes aluminum pedal. Pre Mike I had to fab mine when my stock pedal broke at an autocross. I was approaching the finish line aimed at the grid when the pedal broke at 50 mph. IT FELL UNDER THE BRAKE PEDAL!!!! NO BRAKES. I had to snap spin the car to keep from killing myself and a lot of people. I don't even want to think if that had happened on the highway.
