Default Headers & MPG

I know that headers will add hp over stk rams horn ex man. My question is " Will the engine get more MPG w/headers"? I already have bent and mangled duals on my 74. How much better will headers and new ex w/X pipe be? TIA

My guess would be the mileage will get worse. Not because of the effect of the exhaust gas scavaging, but due to the exercising the new found power.

 How true! Supposed to actually get better mph with headers but due to the noise, cost and durability factors OEM's put those ugly power robbing cast iron manifolds on most cars.

:withstupid: In theory, with no other changes, mpg will increase slightly. In reality right foot will find the floor more.
