Default Sun Visor Problem

The sunvisor on the driver side of my 72 vette works great but the passenger side visor will not rotate down and up . The visor itself is in good condition but it does not rotate like the other one. What do I need to fix? Since the visor itself is in good condition, can the metal rod inside be replaced and will this solve the problem?

Remove the visor & try a few drops of penitrating oil on the rod and open the fabric up so it runs inside the unit. I think metal clips were used to retain the rod, and some bind up. Work it after a day or so of soaking.
I can't say if you'll damage the unit by pulling the rod out. Some visors are so called 'non-serviceable' by the manufacturer and must be replaced. One way to tell is if vendors are selling replacement rods for your year, than they are serviceable. :chevy
