Default brake question: 82 vette

I have installed new pads and I had the brake fluid in the system flushed and refilled but the pedal still goes to within 1 inch of the floor? Do you think this is new master cylinder time or is there something I'm not doing. any help would be appreciated. thanks

Default Re: brake question: 82 vette (tyler77)

It is probably still air in the lines. Tighten all the bleeder nuts again and rebleed, especially the front ones if it was like mine. It can be a PITA. Master cylinders are cheap at Autozone if you replace it ....but there is still lots of brake bleeding to be done. Just keep bleeding them...make sure air is not seeping back in with loose bleeder screws. Good luck.
