When you install the new board, you must turn the key to the on position and then center the needle on the zero.
Turn the key off and then start the car and the tach sould work fine.

Re: Tach Question Need Help (KenSny)
I see were you are suspose to hook 12v up to set it back to zero. No I didn't
So do I need to remove neddle and set it to zero from the 40 mark? I assumed the needle would still move regardless tho, is this line of thought wrong?

Re: Tach Question Need Help (cell2each)
Is it possible they sent me a faulty circuit board. When I hooked up my old circuit board again the needle moves with a lot more force than with the new board.

Re: Tach Question Need Help (cell2each)
Alright I been playing with this circuit board and got it to work only when I push the upper left corner of it down when it is hookup and running. I tried to tighten and loosen the 3 nuts that hold it in place and it still will not work unless I push down on that corner. I am getting the feeling of a faulty circuit board anybody agree with this before I call Ecklers..

It should NOT do that. Take the board out and with a magnifing glass look at the circuits for cracks. Call Eckler's and tell them, they might exchange it, but you never know with electronics.....

ALOT of the circuit boards that are out there are not good ones...Ecklers sells some that are red coated, most of them are junk.
