Default Water pump prices

My water pump went out. I called 4 different parts houses and got 3 different prices. Auto zone said $27 for a new pump (i don't won't rebuilt). O'Reilly's and NAPA were both about $55 and the Chevy dealer said $97. Anything I need to consider besides price? Thanks.

I have an iron Milodon I'll sell you for $40. I've only used it about 10,000 miles.

I'm not sure if it applies to your year, but be sure to specify corvette, I think most corvettes used 3/4 hub diameter rather than the more common 5/8. Also, check the mounting flange thickness. If your alternator mount bolts with the water pump, you will have to resolve belt alignment issues if the flange thickness is different.

Pardon the ignorance, what is an iron Milodon?

Thanks Frank, I'll check those things. I just wondered if there was a quality issue. Auto zone gives a lifetime warranty but I don't care to tackle the job again in my lifetime!

I'd go to stewartcomponents and get one of their high-flow water pumps. Very good quality, not a bad price.

Milodon is a company that has been around for a long time-they sell hi-performance parts. It's an iron water pump-i.e. not aluminum. :)

i agree, but i paid $269 for mine, however it was aluminum and polished. Very nice btw, my motor runs 160-180tops all day long.
