I've been gathering these -- I've seen the one you have pictured -but didn't think they would work.

I was trying to make one of those work also, cause I had one off of a truck. As I remember (disclaimer) put the alternator too far back towards the engine so the belt ended up trying to take up the same space as the ps pump body. You could probly shim something to make it work, but we finally just gave up and bought the right ones for lots of money and when we got them they didn't seem very well made... oh well

Edit: so far i'm not too stoked on the whole power steering thing. Lets see, I coulda just used brackets I had lying around for the alternator and been done with it, um, I could be driving my car right now because it wouldn't be pumping out ps fluid with each crankshaft rotation, there wouldn't be ps fluid all over my nice new freshly painted engine compartment or my driveway... oh well...

That's the bracket I used on my big-block ----- with power steering. I had to cut out the holes in the power steering bracket to lower it down a hair, and with a bracket from the waterpump to the p/s pump and a short belt -- it works just fine ! Rick

It won't work. The alternator bracket for the PS cars is slotted toward the bottom so that the PS belt tension can be adjusted by moving the pump. It actually serves two purposes. You can buy the correct bracket from many of the vendors for around $50. I bought a new one from Paragon because my old one was cracked.
