Default Power Loss

I was driving home from the beach Sunday when the car (76 with 350/300hp) started losing power. It continued to run OK up to 3500 rpm in third gear (auto) but started missing every time I tried to raise the rpm. Any ideas?

Sounds like it could be fuel starvation. Will it do the same if you shift into 2nd and accelerate past 3500 rpm?

Also, try misting the engine with running with water, work best at night. Look for arcing in the ignition system (cap and wires).

Default Re: Power Loss (logans73)

It ran strong above 3500 rpm from a dead start. I was thinking that maybe the vacumn advance had a problem. Before it started happening, the vacumn line to the head lights came off. I put it back on and the lights worked, but when I got on the highway the problem with the enginge cutting off at 3500 rpm started.
