torch red 68 is alive again after wreck(pics)
some of you remember i painted this for a friend last year and he wrecked it a month or so ago,well after replacing the gas tank,right side trailing arm,shocks, leaf spring,half shaft,brake lines,rim,tire,passenger quarter panel and repairing a huge hole in the door,repair drivers quarter panel from exuast shifting over in accident and cracking it and repairing passenger front fender from something hitting it in accident its back on the road.I started saturday morning laying the basecoat on clear coating it sunday wet sanding it monday and buffing tuesday and wednesday.I have a few more spots i want to buff out around some edges but he wanted the car back so ill do it tommorrow.Heres afew shots after i got done buffing it and cleaning it.The car is a daily driver that sees long trip all over eastern states every month,so its no show queen but now after this he wants new interior and a few other things to make it nicer.Pictures arent showing ill get it fixed in a second.

Paint looks great but that gap in the top section of the door in front looks huge. I wonder if shimming the body up in the front could close that gap a little.

the door wasnt shut all the way in that picture,looks deceiving.but it is alittle off,like i said this car gets driven hard and sits outside inthe elements for 12 years now.
