The loops have now been built and I need to know how many still want one so he can ship them over. He built some extra for the local market so if anyone wants to bail out it's not a big deal. I'd rather you tell me now than when the loops are on my living room floor! :)

I'm not convinced thie loop will work with a stock 4-speed shifter (the one that has a bracket mounted to the crossmember). If you have a factory shifter, please take a look at your car before ordering.

This may be a stupid question, but will it work with a Turbo400? Also, how do you tighten the bottom bolts, through that notch cut out in the loop bracket? Will you ship to Canada? Thanks!

Yep, no problems with a TH400. The fabricator owns a 73 with a TH400 so he designed it with that in mind. The idea is to hold the bolt through the access slot like you say. I haven't installed one yet, so I don't know how easy or hard it will be but the fab guy says he installs it in minutes.

I don't mind shipping to Canada.

700R4 is fine. The loop is back far enough to accomodate the length of the 700R4. However, I have no idea how (and if) it will fit a 82 crossmember. I hear the 82 crossmember is different than the earlier ones.

Now I'm confused... looks like a box? A driveshaft loop is designed to hold the shaft in place in case the front U-joint snaps. Without it the shaft continues to turn because it is driven by the wheels. One of two very bad things then happen; Either the front end of the shaft hits the ground polevaulting the car or it goes through the floor.

Don't know if this was the question?

Sorry, I don't. Does the 80 have the old style crossmember like the pictures above? Also, don't know how the late model OE shifter mounts. Please check your car.

Well, question is how your OE shifter mounts. Can you take a picture of your crossmember? It might work, but I'm not sure.

I'm interested in one. Looks like a nice piece of design work. Are you sure it's large enough to allow for suspension movement? Have they been tried out on the street?

I think it would work with a little work. If you flatten the edge of the bracket you could mount the loop-bracket over it. You would have to drill 2 new holes in the loop bracket to match the holes in your existing bracket and maybe file the lower holes so they line up.

Of course it's up to you. No hard feeling if you want to back out. Just let me know.
