Default Now for something complety diffrent.... DYNO NUMBERS!

ON THE TYPHOON!
got it dyno'd, found out i need to get a chip burnt for it because the computer is dumping mass ammounts of fuel into it right when im making all my power. it richens it up too much. but at least its not getting lean!

anyway here are the pics:
last 2 Pics on 2nd page... <Click!

Almost forgot... its only modification is a 3" exhaust system with an exhaust cutout. with the cutout closed it made 23 less hp and 40 less torque.

Did they explain to you what the 3 charts are? The first chart is the actual reading from the dyno (123.67HP/194.69tq.) The second chart is the numbers that are weather corrected.(150.67HP/242.69tq) But I am at a complete loss as to what the third chart is. I don't know how they can get a dyno reading of 123.67HP and show a "Max Total Power" number of 273.39? I have never seen that much disparity between observed readings and any type of correction. If they explained them to you, I am really cirious to know what that third chart means.

:lolg:

Its AWD dude. Top is front wheel power. middle is rear wheel power and bottom is combined.

 id hope to have more than 123hp and 194 tq when a stock 4.3L blazer has 195hp and 230 tq. "THE TURBO SLOWED ME DOWN!"

Just kiddin man. the 437 ft lbs of torque at 3200rpm combined with the AWD is how i manage to get low 1.8 60's and 13 second quarter mile times :D

Not having seen the dyno this was run on, does it have 2 sets of rollers to take all readings at once or do you make a run on the front wheels and another run on the rear wheels and then combine the runs?

its 2 sets of rollers. it just takes the two readings and combines them for total.
much like this one, but in the ground...

actually, its much like an emissions testing dyno. the typhoon has to go in the special line for AWD to get tested.

Prowler: Weren't you the guy that had that audio/video of your Vette put to Beach Boys music? If not, I apologize. My memory is not what it used to be. :) Vette looks VERY nice and I like the orange paint! :D

Is that a single three inch exhaust that is so restrictive?

At a NHRA national even years ago they had a typhoon doing exibition runs. They had it cranked up to the 600 hp level. I can't remember it's numbers but what impressed me was how quiet it was doing 4 wheel burnouts:)

i dont know. ive heard of 3.5" exhaust on syclones and typhoons, but not on stock turbo ones. its actually 3" exhaust with a flowmaster muffler too. so it should flow really well.

when i took my truck down to M.O. i was doind 4-wheel burnouts with just the exhaust dump on the 2.5" exhaust.

its alof ot fun :D

Thought my mind hadn't slipped that bad ;)
I'm just now coming back online too. You can see from my post count that I haven't been around much. I just started tearing into (literally BTW) my '72 the past two weeks. Ripping out AC and heater, etc. Dumping all the unused brittle wiring and ductwork.
