Default Exactly What I thought - Power Window Problem Drivers Side

Hey all;

Give you 1 guess why my drivers side window wouldnt go all the way up.
Heres a hint... hehe

Just what I expected to see.

Gotta figure what I wanna do to replace it. Go with just the overlaying tooth plate or replace the whole thing. I think its even cheaper just to do the whole plate.

Spook,

Keep us informed on what you do. The gear on the drivers side of my car is bad to. I can't decide on whether to get the whole new plate or just the overlaying teeth either. Have you looked into how dificult it is to take the plate off?

Yeah my drivers side window works at the top and the bottom but nothing in the middle. So I am looking at getting new gears too. But havent decided if I want to get the whole thing or just the overlying gears. Keep us posted. :chevy

Another approach..............
Several years ago a buddy had the same thing happen to his regulator.
He wanted a cheap fix.
So I built up ,welded (arc), the worn area, then with a grinder, cut new teeth in the built up area.
It didn't take very long to do, and worked fine.

Not sure how long this fix would work, as he sold the car within a year.
