Default How I fixed the hood clearance problem in the 71-

I was having unussually rich problems, no matter what I did and it ended up being the top of the primary choke air horm was too close to the top of of the air cleaner top, causing as " choke effect" So I cut the bitch off! heres a photo. http://www.angelfire.com/theforce/mx...l_carb_IMG.JPG

I can imagine that cold starts up there in New Jersey are going to be a bit of a challenge with no choke. Should fix the clearance problem though.....

So you've quit driving it already until next spring? I'm still trying to get mine on the road and finish up the 2002-2003 Winter Project

No, Im still driving it untill end of nov. when the drag racing ends! Sometimes
we take it out on a nice winter day, but, the benifit of the choke as oppossed to a new hood did not make sense!

Not so good-

13.80 at 102 mph- but I found 2 gallons of water in my gas tank and also my air cleaner top was too close to the top of the choke air horn- now that is gone! This car should run low to high 12s. mn jack if you are into going next weekend give me a call @ 908-337-3291 or email @ lcarrar@optonline.net
tThis is what I did http://www.angelfire.com/theforce/mx...l_carb_IMG.JPG
