80 Rebuild
The 80 (L-48) is nearing rebuild time. I spoke with Art from Van Steel today and scheduled a drop off date. The initial plan was to have the engine rebuilt with respectable power (I'm guessing around 300hp), rebuild the TH350, and add a new rear spring. Following the inspection and some guidance from John and Art, I've decided to complete the L-48, replace the tranny (700R4), step up to 3:73 rear end, and a number of suspension issues are being resolved. The grand total is reasonalbe. The only issue I may have is the old tranny. It's in good shape as is, but I'd like to get some type of return on it. Maybe sell it to a salvage yard, or a forum member. I don't know of anyone interested at this time. Anyway, Van Steel is coming through for me. I'll have an update in a couple of months.
