Ecklers has some... You can also find them in the Summit catalog... but those are universal ones not specifically designed for Vettes...

Re: Who sells hood scoops??? (1bad69)
I have found the following two generic ones: http://www.speedwaymotors.com (Search on P/N 9001375) http://www.up22.com/scoopw1.htm#SC-104
If you put one of these on an L-88 hood, that will be one heck of a high cowl (4" L88 + 3.5" stinger  )
I think the BM hoods put the stinger scoop on a normal BB hood.

That thing will stick up as high as Norvals blower. Think Baldwin used the stock bb/LT1 hood and glassed it on, those are sweet though. Might look cool and the L88 hood. Photoshop one up for us.

Does anyone sell the hole hood complete and ready for paint? How much additional clearance do you think you would gain?
I have been thinking about this for awhile now and havent been able to find much info.

I'm in the process of doing that right now to ram feed my fuel injected 502. Bought the scoop from an independant manufacturer on eBay. If interested I'll get you his contact info. The cowl height is not hard to overcome (as a mater of fact there is zero change at the cowl since the L-88 hood already has a raised Cowl). Just have to think about it a little bit during the design and layout phase. :)

Re: Who sells hood scoops??? (Fevre)
ya...that would be a cool idea...i could call them Balding-in-Motion...
my thing is that i would like to get rid of the drop base cleaner so the air cleaner sticks through the hood to catch some fresh air...i was toying with the idea of an air box but i am adding another gauge in my hood cowl for a total of three... i am pretty sure that i am blocking alot of air flow by having the gauges there...thus the scoop idea.....
do you think it would look better with the scoop open so you caould see the cleaner or put some sort of chrome mesh there to cover it up? i think either way would be cool...

Mine will have stainless mesh. Acts as a bug catcher too. As for getting rid of the drop base, mine would not work with the Accel FI so I gave it away. The new breather will be open top and penetrate the L-88 hood. A flange will seal it to the underside of the hood. I'll install a metal flame shield above it to protect the new scoop.

Re: Who sells hood scoops??? (Rolling Thunder)
I bought the scoop from speedway motors. It turned out cheaper than than the other with shipping.
I'm putting it on a stock '73-'79 style hood. I'm going to use some kind of mesh (aka WS6 T/A) on the front, but I'm not sure if I'm going to block it off or not. I'm still undecided as to whether I'll go the "ram air" or cowl induction route. I'll probably make a bolt-able block off plate for both so I can pick and choose which one I leave open.

Bob (Brutus) I think your adaptation of that type of scoop on a C-3 hood is probably one of the best looking I've ever seen! Your car is a jewel!

Re: Who sells hood scoops??? (Brutus)
Brutus... do you have any full hood pics of your scoop on the car? I didn't see any on your web site?
I have a '69 BB vert, and was going to go with the L88, but so far the quality of the aftermarket L88 hoods leaves alot to be desired, and after seeing your hood, I'm rethinking I might add the stinger scoop to my factory BB hood.
Awsome job on the hood!! :hurray:
