Default Whoa, check out that Ferrari...

I went to school for a meeting, 2nd floor of the parking structure was filled up so I parked on the third floor.

I was sitting down quietly waiting for the meeting to start when two guys (mechanical engineers) gather next to a window and start talking.

1st: Whoa, check out that Ferrari.
(interest barely raised)
2nd: Dude, that's not a Ferrari, that's a Corvette. A 67.
(Steve thinks: Another vette-owner on campus? I better check this out! A 67 at that.)
Steve: You guys like vettes, huh?
2nd: Why.. is that one yours?
(looks out the window. Oh, there's my car.)
Steve: Oh, yeah.
2nd: What year is it?

...

Met a cool mustang owner. Thought that was neat though. 2nd time someone thought my car was a Ferrari.

I could see that mistake with a C4--kinda looks like a couple of Ferrari models, esp. the one they used a kit-car version of on "Miami Vice" (Daytona?). But what Ferrari does a C3 look like?

First time i drove mine to high school last year one person came up to me and asked if it was my ferrari. But when i moved in to this dorm a few weeks ago one guy came up to me with a friend and said hey this is the guy with the old mustang, its a mustang right? That was annoying.

I was walking into a fast food place and this bum walks up to me and tells me my cadillac is cool (the C3), then asks me for money.

Under the circumstances, if you had given him a napkin and told him it is a $20 he probably would have been thrilled! What a sad waste of humanity.

I guess that sorta looks like a C3--more like an E-type Jaguar to me, though.

When viewed from the rear, the early C-3 body looks almost exactly like a 250 GTO SWB. Duntov admitted that he loved the "duck tail" look of the Ferrari, and that's probably why it ended up on the '68, four round taillights and all, five years later.

Also, it's almost sacrilege to say ANYTHING looks like an early E-type, probably the most gorgoeous body ever conceived for an automobile. When I'm rich and famous, thats what I'll plunk down the large green for. A '67 4.2 convertible, to be exact...

I should note you could only see my vette from behind.
