MY RESTORATION PICS (before and after)
Hi all,
Here is my progress as of October 12, 2003. It is really coming together. I would have been lost without this forum. Remember, I am NOT a mechanic... I just read the Corvette books. I know enough to be verrrry dangerous... hee hee. Let me know what you think so far.... Thanks!
 :steering:
Sorry my webpage isn't that great, I haven't read a book on that yet!

I disagree, If you took that Vette all apart, restored it and put it back together, you are a mechanic, a good one. Looks like you have done alot of hard work and it looks good from here.

Nice work !!
... and a nice neighborhood. I'm surprised that your neighbors tolerate
"our kind". Well - you do have the Benz out front to keep 'em guessing what
all that noise coming from the garage may be.
Keep it up !!

Re: MY RESTORATION PICS (NHvette)
DMONSVETTE- Thanks for the comments... I guess I am a master mechanic in my own mind.
Adamdinat- It is truly awesome to reassemble with clean parts. I feel like I am working at the Chevy Plant in 1970.... but I only need to build one car this year....
NHVette- My neighbors do complain... but not about the Corvette... I smoke the tires on my E320 almost daily when I leave the development.... just to ****'em off.
The black ML320 is my wife's "baby" I am not allowed to drive it anymore... I took it mud bogging one time on our way home from dinner.... Hey, wasn't my fault... the new development was begging for me to go 4 wheeling... :hurray:

Looks Awesome! If you are able to do that without being a mechanic I guess I have no excuses for not "digging deeper" into my own maintenance, repairs, upgrades and restoration.

Re: MY RESTORATION PICS (Smokehouse69)
Smokehouse- The frame was done with... POR-15. No kidding... really. I wire wheeled the ENTIRE frame. Used Metal Ready to add bite to the metal so the POR-15 would stick. Then when the POR-15 was nice and tacky... hit it with black gloss. The key is to get the frame super clean and ready. If it is one thing I learned during this whole rebuild process- Take the time to prep correctly or why bother doing it at all. I am having a lot of fun along the way also.... good stress reliever

Mr. Gearhead, that's exactly what I did on my frame, only mine doesn't look as good! :D
Your car is going to turn out great with the attention to detail you've put in so far. Great Work! You really are going to have something to be proud of!

Looks good
Someday I will get to do this too :yesnod: Maybe to a chrome bumper car.
Do you have a blasting cabinet to clean up some of the parts too or are you using wire wheel on everything?
Brent...
