Default Got my new powermaster 17294 powermaster alternator today

I hope this will solve my low volt idle problems.. It has been getting worse especially with the new a/c system. The new alt is rated 70 amps at idle with a max of 103 amps. Now I need to install it . It is recommended to use a 8 awg wire. Any special ways to hook it in? I under the assumtion that I send the 8 g wire from the starter terminal to the back of the alt and just plug in the 2 prong clip.?? Will all my gauges (voltmeter ) still work this way? I have a inline fuse to use for this wire also.
