Default new drivers lower dash panel, Any tips?

Actually, everything is new, but the drivers lower dash is a real PITA to get in. It still is not right and seems if I force it in somthing is going to break. I already lowered the steering colum. It kinda seems like the wiring harness is the problem but I am not sure. Its a 76, anyone got any tips?

The 76 Assembly manual has all the wire and hose routing. The main dash harness runs over the top of the speedo and tach. Sounds like you might be binding on something behind the gages..

:iagree: Make sure your wires are held up on top and it should fit. It is very tite behind there and no room for misstakes. Take your time.
Good Luck

Thanks for the tips! I have an assembly manual, but I misplaced it in the last couple of days. So the main harness goes above the speedo and tach, but when does it go infront of or behind the hvac vents after that? Is it between the center bezel and the vent or does it go behind the vent? I have an ac car if that matters. Its amazing how everything needs to go EXACTLY in the right spot. I guess its actually pretty good engineering.
