Default Inside Rear Window Moulding?

I replaced my broken inside rear window moulding with a new one from Corvette America. The moulding has a gap between it and all around the rear window and does not even touch the rear glass as I would have expected. Is this normal for a 1973 C3 Coupe? Also there is a hole in the bottom middle of the moulding where a screw is supposed to go. The old one did not have this and there is no place to screw into. Any good way to make a screw anchor in the fiberglass?

Thanks

Mines still original from 74 I think and fits like crap (pretty much the same as you're explaining) although 99% of the replacemnt interior parts I bought from Corvette America were garbage. :leaving:
