Default Jet Hot Coat Hooker Chrome Headers???

Do the Hooker chrome headers discolor with heat like other chrome headers do?

Should I powder coat them? Any experience?

Thanks

Yes the chrome will discolor and rust eventually. Powder coatings cannot be applied to headers. The best coating for headers are from Jet-Hot. Do a web search for more info.

Oops, I meant Jet-Hot coat, not powder coat.

The experience I have with ceramic ( Jet hot ) coatings is that they look great when it is new but it tends to dull over time, still looks OK as it does not flake or anything like paint.

Chrome does discolor but I kind of like the blueish color and the rest of the header stays nice and shiny, think I'll get the next set chromed :D

They will discolor at first and then dull to the point the just look like bare steel. I'm probably going to end up jet-coating mine within the next couple of years :leaving:

my headers are jet-hot coated....nice and shiney at first, but a dull looking silver now. still looks better than blued out chrome or rust.
