Default ceramic coatings

What is a fair price for ceramic coating a new set of headers with manufacurer's paint on them???

I hear it will reduce underhood temps....correct???

also if that is true, it will also increase the exhaust pipe after collector temps also correct??

What you just said is a Paradox.....impossible to reduce underhood temp and increase exhaust tube temps.

Underhood temps are the product of exhaust tube temps.

For what it's worth, you might be further ahead to buy a set of Dynomax coated headers and sell your other set to off set the cost. From what I've seen to have a set coated is around a couple of hundred buck or more depending on the shop.

I just paid $230 for a pair of big block headers to be coated here in Michigan. I think the guy did a much better job than what the header manufacturers normally supply.

Edit: I forgot that you're running a TPI set up and that you likely have the headers set up for an o2 sensor.

Kenzy, it's not the DPFI/O2 sensor that the problem, it's the rack and pinion steering with my own installation that is...headers on the car NOW are differant than most vette headers, off a spec dirt? track car type setup, and so do not interfear with anything ever....that's why they were chosen, and of course the racer down the street had them in his hip pocket for cheap, used....another nice thing....they are Schoenfeld 151 headers...and I just ordered another set, and need modify them slightly and put them on the car for fittment...then need them sent off for ceramic coatings....

Had a set of BB done locally for $175. Had it done through a local speed shop in Lakeland. Think I am going to have some wire wheels done soon.
