Default Oil burn info

Since I built my engine I have had an oil burn problem when on the highway. It has good compression and little leak down and I was wondering about intake sealing problems as others have had. As a one try before last resort I pulled the rocker studs out and however it happened I obviously forgot to seal 3 of the studs over the intakes. Now sealed and oil problem gone. Just a heads up to others.

Default Re: Oil burn info (bob)

Bob,

Thanks for the info. I recall replacing the rocker studs on my bb (oval port factory iron heads) and having a similar problem. Even though it looked like they were blind tapped and would not require sealant. Guess I was wrong because after pulling them out and using the ARP sealant I had it solved the problem of oil fouled plugs. Interesting.
