Is my clutch slipping?
Last week after the dyno runs, we went for a few test drives and Tim who did the dyno work said he thought my clutch was slipping. He said with that much hp I should be able to fry the tires in second and third gear. Is there a way to tell if something is wrong? I have a Centerforce 2 clutch and pressure plate. I have not smelled any burning smell and it seems to take off good in first and hits second pretty hard as well. Or was he just being critical?

You will smell it if you are overpowering the clutch at least I did on a stock clutch. CenterForce will handle your power and more. What tires do you have on the back.
To ways to smoke them in second, power shift into it or cruising along and hit the gas which one did he try ? If the second them amybe you are on the edge with smaller tires I think there is enough power. Just my 3c here :D

No power shifting, just fast from first to second then nail the gas. I was just out driving a few minutes ago and did get real loose hitting second gear. Of course its chilly outside right now so the RAT really likes the air! I have been afraid to power shift because I dont want to break something!!!! I am running BFG's T/A 255-60 all around.

One more thing I forgot to mention is the fact that C3's actually get good traction due to the sqatting effect of the rear end which happens in every gear.
My point is that 380RWHP may smoke the tires in third on solid axle car like a Cuda or Chevelle but not nessessarily on ours. :D

467-Ratman,
What version of the Sanderson headers & tube size are you running on your engine? Just curious.

I think the style number is BB-1, they are block hugger design with 1 3/4 tubes going into a 3 inch collector.
