Default Seats?

How comfortable are the seats supposed to be in an 81? It just doesn't feel like they do justice for me. Any thoughts? I also have a good crack/rip in my passengers seat that needs to be fixed.

My seats were pretty bad until I replaced the foam and leather covers. Now they are nice.

I think this would be a good item for a forum group buy. I'm sure a lot of members would be interested.

there is a great post in the archive about adding C5 seats to our cars.. http://www.corvettefaq.com/c3/c5seats.htm

that would look cool and the c5 seats are nice.

actually there is a member selling a mint pair of c5 seats at a good price right now.

cheers chad

My 82's seats are pretty new and I think they are pretty decent. Im 6'1" and I fit the seats without any problems. I suppose if I had any complaints, I would like to get more back recline before the rear of the seat hits the upper floor area.

Mine are 6-way power so I can raise the front of the seat to get the best position for my set up. I can survive 4-5 hour trips without too much stiffness so it not too bad in my book.

I installed "leather mounted seat cushions" in my '79 and with new springs and foam, the seats are much firmer and I found much better lateral support as well...
