17x8.5 fronts - 255/45/17's - will be going to a 255/50 soon.
17x9.5 rears - 285/40/17's - looking at a taller tire but can only really find a 275/60/17 which is SUV and HUGE

275/50/17 in rear is perfect size for the car.....fit's stock arms, and works well....by Nitto.....280 bux/pair......

Sidewall: 4.5
Diameter: 26.00
With those tires it would be:
Sidewall: 5.4
Diameter: 27.8 - up 1.8 inches total or .9 inch less fender gap and .9 inch more ground clearance (can lower rear of car even more).
I am going from 255/45's to 255/50's in the front. that gives me 1.0 taller tire, or .5 less fender gap and .5 more ground clearance.

17x8, 4" BS. Bridgestone 255/50-ZR17. I think the tires are about $150. Kumho has good tires in the same size for $100.

It appears that this forum is still having problems and I can't get to my stacks of postable pictures.
So all I can show you is: http://www.corvetteforum.net/c3/gkull/
I like the middle picture. those are 285/40/17 rears on 11 inch wheels and the fronts aresomething like 265 or 255 40's on 9.5 inch

Check these out:
There on forum member Dewcustom's car.
He stated this:
the fronts are 18x8 with a 4.25 backspace and have 255/45's on them
the rear are 18x10 with a 5.5 backspace and have 295/45's on them
Pretty sweet. Tires are Nittos I think.

I like the tread design on the Kumo's and the site above lists the tire diameter. I wonder how durable their tires are?

17X8 TTII's
255/50-17
I'm really not happy with the 50 series tire. The wheels are tires look too big for the scale of the car IMO. I'll probably go with 45 series next spring even though the tires have less than 200 miles on them :banghead: :leaving:
I just realized I have clearance problems with the front spoiler.
