Im adding some 79-81 bucket seats to my 71. Unfortunally I have to recoverthem.
My question is this .. How many of you all re did the seats with the 4" bolster?
my consern comes is that I have a 40"waist and I dont know If I should go with the norm 2" bolsters or the 4"bolsters.

your input of what you folks use, and how comfortable it is would be greatly appreatead (sp)

Which part is the bolster anyway?????? Is that the part up the side on both sides of the seat back??? If so I'll check mine to see what I have this afternoon and let you know.

Well, all I know is I'm 5'7" and weigh 250lbs. My 79' seats are stock, and fit me fine. I just can't lower the tilt wheel all the way until I work some of the "chubb" off of my legs, lol.

I think the Bolsters are on the back. They hold your Kidneys in, and in my case keep my spare tire inplace :)

I have an 81 and bought new seats with the covers already on the foams with the 4in bolster. i am a small guy at 5' 3" but i really like mine. They will be really hard for awhile till you break them in. I think you'll like the 4in.

The bolsters are the side "wings" on the bottom, horizontal part of the seat to help keep you planted when cornering. THAT SAID, I'm 6'3" and 265 bls. I have the 4" bolsters on my 81. Go for the 4" bolsters, you'll fit just fine. They may start out stiff at first but they'll soften up quickly.
