Default Body mount replacement on a 77

I have ALL the mount bolts out. (snapped 4 got 4 out) now i will need to get to the "nut cages" on mount #2 on the drivers side. and #3 on both sides.

now my problem....

i belive i have everything i need to have unbolted. and i can get the passengers side lifted off the frame plenty high to get to the "cages"

but the drivers side is a different story. i can only lift it up about 1-2" max then the frame follows. I have everything unbolted from the drivers side as i do on the passengers side.

also the "pull" of the frame on the drivers side seems to be from the front.

could it be the steering shaft from the colum to the steering box?

Any help or ideas?

Yes.

I don't believe there is a lot of play there, or at least there shouldn't be.

There is a list on my web page of what has to come off. Yes the steering column has to be disconnected from the gear box or you will bend it. Also remove the battery ground strap from the frame behind the drivers seat. There is a ground wire attached to the fame and rocker channel by the driver side #1 mount. Check the list.
Good luck

Just took the body off mine 2 days ago and i had the same problem. Good thing i took it slow as i needed to disconect the brakes lines from the cylinder. There is also a small ground cable that goes near the #1 bolt. Take it slow and you will be ok. Lift and check, then lift some more.
