Great pic! I always loved that course. I've only seen pictures though. I remember it well from the late '60's. Do they still race there Mike?
Ford is brinng back the GT40, now Chevy needs to ressurrect a C3 L-88! Yeah, fat chance! :D

I dont know offering a 427 engine in the C6 as a limited edition L88 would be sweet as hell

Well if they get a brain they could run the L88 as a stroked 427 LS1 and offer it through an after market company with L88 badging. Prolly won;t happen though.

Re: Ford GT40 & L88 Corvette Pic (SmokedTires)
The Gt-40 in the pic, if memory serves correct, was runner-up at Le Mans in 1967. I was up at the Glen and met the owner. He actually drives the Gt 40 on the street fairly regularly amassing about 10,000 street miles over about 15 yrs of ownership.
The "Braun" Vette in the background is owned by Lance Smith. Its a Greenwood Car from the early 70's. Lance also owns the Spirit of '75 Greenwood car that was the fastest car ever clocked at Daytona -- 237 mph.
If you leave on the east coast, I'd urge you to get up to the Zippo Vintage Car fest at the Glen in early Sept. It's just about the best car weekend I've ever been to.

I've run the track in my '70, a '91, and a Miata. It's one of my favorite tracks in the northeast.

I'll take the GT40.
As for ford bringing it back, it'll be labelled GT, they lost the GT40 name to some firm and they want a load of money to give it back (or somethin like that)
GT40, most awesome car out ther IMO, beats everything even labos and ferraris

Sure was nice of that guy in the L88 to let the GT40 get around him for the picture! :D
Wish I could afford a new GT.

Re: Ford GT40 & L88 Corvette Pic (ZD75blue)
November Hot Rod magazine has an article on the new Ford GT engine; all aluminum, double overhead cam, 4 valves per cylinder, blown with a screw type supercharger=500+ hp!
