Default Reply from Car Creations

I had sent Car Creations an e-mail a while back to see if it was possible to buy their "New Original Style Frame" and have them add "'85-`96 Corvette late model suspension" without modifying the body (either exterior or interior) and here is the reply I got....

"We are not able to put C-4 Corvette suspension into a 'C3 Vette without modifying the floor to make room for the new torque arm, larger differential and axles. Wish we could! Your transmission and driveshaft tunnel can stay stock except for the additional clearance for the torque arm on the passenger side.

The "new original style frame" is absolutely stock. It needs to be modified to accept C-4 Corvette suspension".

Well so much for getting the C3 to handle like a C4....

Thanks for sharing.

Why are you so against modifying the interior to accept the new parts?

We have a Newman chassis, unfinished, in the shop that we looked at a long time to figure out a number of things.

I'll show you how we put a full C4 suspension with traction control, 4-wheel ABS, etc. into my 77 next year. Hopefully. These projects take time when no one else has done them.

They were unable to show me a picture of how much smaller the passenger compartment would be and how to repair the area other than "we will be offering fibergalss patch panels for these areas"

Hate to mess with a good thing

Jim
