Default Ramps Revisited DOH!!

I just made a pair of ramps using 1970stingray's instructions. See http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=657597

Unfortunately, I didn't take into account the airdam under my '81's bumper, which 1970stingray's car doesn't have :(

To clear the airdam, it looks like the bottom board should be at least 50+ inches long, or else place a separate piece of 2x12 in front of the ramp :yesnod:

I had similar problem with a pair of rhino ramps and my 82. I measured the height to see it would clear my air dam. No problem so I bought them. What I missed was the stop on the end of the ramp hit the dam. :smash:

But hey they work great on the back wheels.

How long did it take you to build them? I'd like to give this a shot.

The project took less than 1 hour. The most time consuming part was finding good 2x12s at Home Depot and hauling them home. I cut them with a circular saw and secured each layer with six 2.5" coarse screws. Oh, and added wheel stops on the top boards.

If you use CCA treated lumber, be sure to wear a mask or at least try not to breath the sawdust. It may make your lungs null and void later :(

I had the same problem when I built mine. No matter what I did I still rubbed on the drivers side. I ended up using a 1 x 4 on each transition to get around it. :auto:
