I bought a 1971 GMC truck as a daily driver. It has alot of issues, but what is keeping me from driving it is the spagetti wiring. It runs-I bought a new battery today and have replaced the ignition switch. I don't want to hook the battery up until I am sure everything is where it is suppose to be. It appears that alot of the original wiring is still there, but it is mangled and spliced all over the place. If I can get an idea of what I have, I can splice in the correct wires correctly. I have an old Monte Carlo manual-would the wires be the same?

Go to 67-72chevytrucks.com someone will get you a wiring diagram. If not I could fax you one on tuesday. I don't have a scanner.

I just bougt a 71 myself and have the manual. Let me know how you make out, and I could also fax over a copy of the diagram if necessary.

Thanks for the help guys. I've checked out a couple of other sites. I don't have a fax. What manuals do you guys have? I guess a Chilton's or Hayne's should work.

Dude, That is great!! Thanks alot. I really really appreciate it. I looked at the Chilton's at Autozone today and it didn't have much in it, so I didn't get it. I have several other manuals and figured it was a waste of $15 since it didn't have much specific info that I needed. Thanks again.....
