Default 1980 Power Door Locks

I recently purchased this car, so I am still learning......and probably will for a long time. I am trying to get the power door locks to work. The passenger side actuator was soo stiff, it was hard to lock/unlock even manually. I replaced both of them and they will now unlock, but not lock. I have tested the switchs and it appears I have current moving in both directions (lock and unlock). The previous owner told me that he thought the alarm was bringing the battery down, so he unplugged the alarm relay that is inside the console. Could this have anything to do with my power door lock problem?

Also, I suspect that if the alarm is drawing the battery down, that it is probably one of the switchs in the alarm system, not the relay.

Please give me your thoughts/previous experiences.

Thanks
Hal
