Default Radiator Hoses

Ordered and received upper and lower radiator hoses from superchevyperformance.com aka Jeff Kopp. BTW, they cost a few pennys more than if I had gone to gm parts direct, even with GPD's outrageous shipping charges.

Anyway, the hoses do not have inner springs. I thought I read in this forum to be sure the hoses had inner springs for stiffness/structure.

The hoses are the correct part numbers and the right shape.

Only the lower hose has a spring inside.
As I recall, my "correct" replacement did NOT have a spring either. I took the one out of the old lower hose and stuck it in the new one.

I know I've seen (back in the olden days) hoses for other cars with springs.
I don't know if hose technology has changed over the years, but, FWIW, my '77 has not had hoses with springs for the 9 years I've had it and its had no "hose collapse" problems (wood :smash: ).
