Default Help with info on late model C4 6 speed into '79

Any links to any websites that could help me look into this ? A friend is interested in doing this and I am trying to point him in the right direction. Any suggestions as to whether or not this is feasible, or is there another swap that would be easier ? TIA

I don't have first-hand experience with this, but a friend told me the Corvette 6-sp will not fit without major floor modifications due to it's width. He says the F-Body 6-sp is a much closer fit.

Also interested in this conversion, but wondering how much torque the F-Body 6-sp can take without giving up the ghost? :blueangel:

I'm working on it and it takes MAJOR surgery to the floor of the car, a custom tranny crossmember, some mods to the firewall.

I wouldn't do it unless you are planning to take the whole car apart like I did

Here's the mods to the floor:

Here's some of the widening of the trans tunnel, later I widened it even more because I felt like there was just not enough room and don't want the tranny to ban on the floor.

The F-body T-56 is rated at 450lbs of torque.
